Frequently asked questions
Reiki is a gentle Japanese healing art that is used to support relaxation, stress reduction, and healing.
Reiki is based on the understanding that when our energy is flowing freely, we feel more at ease physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When energy becomes stagnant or depleted, we may feel tension, stress, or imbalance. Reiki encourages movement, flow, and harmony within the energy body.
Reiki is not a replacement for medical care and does not diagnose or treat conditions. It simply offers a supportive, calming experience.
Reiki can be practiced with light touch or completely hands off- or a blend of both.
Both methods are equally effective; the difference is simply comfort and preference.
Before your session begins, I will always ask for your consent regarding touch. You are encouraged to let me know what feels best for you, and you can change your mind at any time during the session.
Everyone’s experience is unique. Many people report feeling:
deeply relaxed
lighter or more grounded
emotionally clearer
gently energized
more present
Sometimes the effects are immediate; other times they unfold over the next 24–72 hours.
You may also feel tired, emotional, introspective, or peaceful — all normal responses to energetic shifts and deep relaxation.
Reiki may continue working subtly even after the session ends.
There is no “right” frequency — it varies for each person.
Some clients come once for support during a specific moment in their life.
Others return weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly to maintain a sense of balance.
Many people find that with consistent sessions, the experience deepens over time.
You’re welcome to explore what pace feels supportive for you!
There is nothing special you need to do. However, these suggestions may help you feel more comfortable:
Wear soft, comfortable clothing. (Jeans are not recommended.)
Drink water before and after your session.
Feel free to set an intention for what you’d like support with — or simply show up as you are.
No — Reiki is a gentle and relaxing modality.
It does not involve pressure, manipulation, or anything physically intense.
However, energetic shifts may bring up emotions, memories, or sensations- which is completely normal. If anything ever feels overwhelming, we can pause or stop at any time. Your comfort is always the priority.
Reiki is not a medical treatment, nor does it diagnose or cure physical conditions.
Some people notice relief or ease as their body relaxes during a session, but results vary.
If you are experiencing physical pain or a medical concern, please consult a licensed healthcare professional.
Reiki is considered a complementary wellness practice, not a substitute for medical care.
No- Reiki is not tied to any religion or belief system.

Reiki simply works with universal life-force energy, similar to practices found in yoga, breathwork, meditation, and many traditional cultures.
Most clients experience it as calming, centering, and restorative- without requiring any specific beliefs.
